Christmas 2016 was a great opportunity for children to ask for engineering presents and no more so than in Year 3, where many Crumble Controllers were requested and received.

Mollie-Anne Barnett delighted me at the beginning of the new term by bringing in and sharing her Solar Robot Kit.

Here is what she had to say about it:

“For Christmas, one of my presents was a Solar Robot Kit. With the help of my Pop, we have built a solar powered car, which moves by converting light energy into electrical energy, which then drives a tiny electrical motor.

There are 14 robots to make altogether and I have really enjoyed making this one. This is a photograph of my finished robot.”
