In July 2017 a collection of children from my Year 4 class wrote enthusiastically to Justine Greening about their passion for engineering – a direct result of our whole school project – and invited her to visit. As you can see from the narrative, engineering can have a clear impact on English, as well as other curriculum subjects.
Unfortunately, the reply – actually received late on in September – was very disappointing, and not nearly as well-structured as that of my 9 year old pupils.
The question I would like to ask, is “Did anyone actually read their letters?”
